The Library Sessions and Workshops.
We are pleased to be able to announce that there is a move in Kirkburton, to establish a local family history interest group, holding regular meetings based at the local library and supported by H&DFHS. The
next meeting is on Thursday 8th January 6.00 to 8.00 pm at Kirkburton Library.
There is also a move to establish a group at Lepton
Library, by Roger Gill, and supported by H&DFHS. The sessions will be alternate Mondays. The first meeting is on
Monday 12th January 2009, 2.00 to 4.00 pm

The Huddersfield and District family History Society
celebrated it’s 21st anniversary this year. This prompted the committee
to arrange the society's first family history fair, which was held at
Huddersfield University on 10th May 2008. The day was such an
overwhelming success, that we are looking at making this an annual
event, and we have already started making plans for our 2nd family history
fair. Watch this page for more information and further details as our
plans progress.
