Membership

The Huddersfield and District Family History Society is open to anyone with an interest in finding out about their ancestor's, whether you live within the above area or not and postal members are always welcome. Members are entitled to admission to meeting's (10 each year with speakers on a variety of topics) and participation in the Societies activities. Each member also receives 4 issues per year of the Society's journal.

Membership cost's are;-

Individual £10.00 per year.

Family £12.00 per year.

Overseas (airmail) £12.00 per year.

Overseas members are asked to pay in sterling, preferably by sterling cheque drawn against a bank with an international branch based in London, or by sterling International Money Order (to avoid currency conversion charges). Membership runs from 1 st August to 31 st July. Anyone joining part way through the year, receives all the journals for that year. The benefits of membership are many.

A full programme of talks is arranged for each second Tuesday in the month, from September to June, with occasional workshop evenings and visits. The society's bookstall is at every meeting with the Society's publications and a selection of FFHS and other publications for sale. All members are encouraged to submit their current research interests, which are then published in the Journal, thus allowing other members with similar interests to correspond.

Members are encouraged to submit their family birth brief (ie direct ancestors). The details are being compiled into a database so that they can be searched and possible matches identified.
